For those homeowners wishing to reduce their environmental impact, it can be time consuming and challenging to find energy-saving changes which are also money-saving changes. No project is too small for the Climate Action Consultancy—we seek to connect with Ontario homeowners to do this research work for free so you do not have to. Our team of students examines the incentives and grants available for those wishing to make sustainable changes in our community. The organization will determine how to minimize your costs and calculate the return on investment so that you can ensure that green initiatives are worthwhile. For example: At current electricity prices, and given the tax incentives for residential solar panels, installing rooftop solar panels can save money in an average household. We provide a research report unique to your situation which details why and how you can make sustainable changes, as well as the estimated expenses and return on investment. These services are entirely free and confidential with no commitment. Our goal is to encourage sustainability in our community!
We work with residents throughout Ontario.
Information-Sharing and Resources
The CAC also endeavours to improve understanding of climate issues and solutions among residents of the community. We bridge the gap between science researchers and the community by providing written resources on our website and social media campaigns.

For small businesses, especially in the wake of COVID-19, implementing green initiatives is a significant expense. It is challenging and time-consuming to evaluate environmentally-friendly projects, which can often be costly. To address this, the CAC offers free consulting to small businesses in the community with the goal of encouraging sustainable growth. Our team of researchers examines the expenses, return on investment, and overall feasibility of environmental initiatives to determine whether businesses can improve their ecological footprint at minimal cost.
How is this done?
What does 'Consulting' entail?
After an initial discussion with a representative from a local business, a select group of researchers is allocated to the project. Over the course of a month, they collaborate to develop potential initiatives, determining expenses and evaluating the benefits of these initiatives to the business owner. The Consultancy will draft a written report, detailing the above information in a summarized format that is easy to evaluate. Resources are provided so that initiatives can be undertaken with minimal time commitment. If it is of interest, members of our team will present this information by phone or video call to the business and answer any questions they may have.
Why do we do this for free?
The CAC is an organization of undergraduate students willing to devote their time and expertise to addressing climate issues in the community. Our members are passionate about reducing the community's environmental impact, which we hope to achieve by eliminating the expenses and time required to make decisions about green initiatives. There is no commitment to implement initiatives nor payment required for our services, so consulting is entirely risk-free.
There are a numerous policy options to address environmental issues at the municipal scale. Specifically, approaches to mitigate and adapt to climate change are central aspects of climate policy which should be pursued. The Consultancy advocates for municipal-level changes which are beneficial to the community and address environmental concerns. To achieve this, the CAC endeavours to campaign to the municipal government to make simple, yet effective, community decisions. Our research team examines successful policy implemented by other municipalities, such as Toronto's climate change mitigation and adaptation strategy. The Consultancy also drafts documents to inform the community of solutions to climate issues to increase support for these changes at the local scale.
